Kära vänner,
”Klimaträttvisa? Teologiska, andliga, politiska och praktiska dimensioner” är temat för årets europeiska metodistiska föreläsningsprogram som inleds den 14 oktober 2025.
I denna femte serie av det europeiska metodistiska föreläsningsprogrammet (EMLP) utforskar vi de teologiska, andliga, politiska och praktiska dimensionerna av den växande klimatkrisen. Serien är utformad för att göra det möjligt för präster i Europa att reflektera över kyrkans uppdrag och verksamhet i ljuset av klimatförändringarnas globala konsekvenser och att engagera sig i de stora teologiska och andliga frågorna som rör vad det innebär att vara människa i relation till en alltmer instabil naturvärld, vad det innebär att sträva efter rättvisa i ett sammanhang med ojämn motståndskraft mot klimatförändringar och vad vi tror att Guds syfte med skapelsen är.
European Methodist Lecture Program är en online-föreläsningsserie som anordnas av Methodist-related Schools in Europe (MTSE). Årets program organiseras och administreras av Wesley House Cambridge (Jane Leach och Daniel Pratt-Morris-Chapman) och Reutlingen School of Theology (Ulrike Schuler och Stephan von Twardowski).
Föreläsare från olika länder, metodistiska traditioner, teologiska expertisområden och ekumeniska sammanhang kommer att dela med sig av sina insikter och presentera sina perspektiv och forskning om ”klimaträttvisa” ur ett teologiskt perspektiv. Föreläsningarna följs av diskussioner i grupper och i plenum. EMLP samlar studenter, teologer, präster och lekmän från hela Europa och andra delar av världen – med olika bakgrunder och kulturer. Det erbjuder en lärandemiljö på interkulturell och internationell nivå.

Theological, Spiritual, Political and Practical Dimensions In this 5th series of the European Methodist Lecture Program (EMLP), we explore the theological, spiritual, political, and practical dimensions of the evolving climate crisis.
The series is designed to enable ministry practitioners in Europe to reflect on the mission and ministry of the church in the light of the global implications of climate change and to engage with the big theological and spiritual questions that concern what it means to be human in relation to an increasingly volatile natural world; what it means to be justice-seeking in the context of uneven climate change resilience; and what we think God’s purposes are for creation.
The European Methodist Lecture Program is an online program (via video conferences). Speakers from various countries, Methodist traditions, theological expertise, and ecumenical contexts will give their insights and present their perspectives and research on “Climate Justice” from a theological perspective. The lectures are followed by discussions in groups and in plenary sessions.
The EMLP brings together students, theologians, clergy, and lay persons from all over Europe and beyond – from different backgrounds and cultures. It offers a learning space on intercultural and international level.

The sessions take place via video conference from 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. (90 minutes). The language of the lectures and the discussions is English. The link for the video conferences will be provided to those registered at the beginning of October 2025.
